Airtel sells 800 Mhz spectrum to Reliance Jio for Rs 1,037

Bharati Airtel sold some of the 800Mhz spectra to Reliance Jio for a Rs 1,037 crore deal in Andhra Pradesh ( 3.75 Mhz), Delhi (1.25 Mhz), and Mumbai (2.50 Mhz).

The agreement will receive a consideration of Rs 1037.6 crores from Jio for the proposed transfer will assume future liabilities of Rs 459 crores relating to the spectrum. According to the Bharati Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal said in a statement, The sale of the 800 Mhz blocks in these circles to unlock value from spectrum said in Indian times reports.

Reliance Jio aimed to develop home-self developed 5G solutions that only major telecom company supports the local 5G standards. However, Reliance Jio will use its own developed 5G solutions to become the very best suitable for Indian and global standards.

Moreover, Bharati Airtel still behind to support local 5G standards will push it way behind other nations to keep out of the global ecosystem. Telecom Regulator of India said that 5Gi will prove to be a “game-changer” for the industry.

The standards set by TSDSI aren’t in line with What 3GPP has recommended will prove to be very costly for India country. The 5Gi standards recommended by the TSDSI won’t work with the existing 4G network.

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea said that the local 5G standards can prove to be very costly for us and might result in a delay in nationwide 5G rollout. Reliance Jio said that they will announce 5G based on PAN in some cities of India on June 2021.
