Microsoft Edge update every four weeks

Microsoft has announced the Chromium Edge updates cycle every four weeks to match rival Google Chrome every four weeks cycle. Yesterday, Microsoft also stopped pushing updates to classic Edge browsers in Windows.

Microsoft Edge has already been the recipient of several new updates this year with new features vertical tabs. themes, and history and tab sync.

Newest change has seen to arrive in the next big update is set to hit on March 15 followed by another release on April 27 – roughly six weeks later. By the end of September, Microsoft will have moved to a faster release schedule and expects to continue that pace into the new year.

The enterprise customers will get the same new features and security from the 4-week cycles even they do not choose the Extended Stable option.For older version of Windows 10, these changes will be included in the April 2021 cumulative updates. This includes version 1809. version 1903. version 1909. version 2004 and version 20H2.

After these updates, Windows 10 will have show an option to download Edge Chromium to download and disable the classic Edge.

This move is expected to improve the market share of Microsoft Edge in completion with Google Chrome browser in this year.
